Welcome to Gluten Free Safe NY!

Hi, I’m Am, and I’m so glad you’re here.

A few years ago, my daughter was diagnosed with celiac disease. Like many parents in that moment, I felt overwhelmed. Suddenly, every meal required research, every restaurant visit came with anxiety, and after a few bouts of cross-contamination I found myself wishing someone had already done the work of finding truly safe places to eat.

That’s why I created Gluten Free Safe NY – a resource for gluten-free and celiac-safe dining across New York. Long Island is the place we are starting, and if there is demand to expand I certainly will! Whether you’re managing celiac disease, gluten sensitivity, or simply choosing a gluten-free lifestyle, finding restaurants you can trust shouldn’t be this hard.

Each month, I’ll bring you restaurant recommendations, tips, recipes, products (and where to find them), important information and resources to make gluten-free living easier. I plan to personally visit and evaluate each restaurant I feature, and talk to owners about their gluten free protocols such as separate fryers, designated kitchen spaces, and how their staff is trained, among other important questions.
